Event Details

GeoCaching (half day event, 1:00 - 4:00 pm)

As part of the GeoEd’10 preconference activities, there will be a GeoCaching event held on the Southwest Campus of Jefferson CTC.  GeoCaching is the discovery of items hidden at specified longitude and latitude. The participant will use a GPS to find these locations.  Those finding the most caches in the least amount of time will be awarded a prize.  This activity will be  both a networking event and a fun way to learn more about the function of GPS.  GPS units will be provided to those who do not own their own device.Attendance of "Using a GPS Across the Curriculum" Workshop is not mandatory.

This workshop will meet in Room 111 of the Business Building.

 

This workshop will be held on the Southwest Campus of Jefferson Community and Technical College.  The college is located at 1000 Community College Drive, Louisville, KY 40272.

The goals of the KITCenter are:

  • to increase IT enrollment and completion rates, with more IT jobs filled;
  • to implement widely the new Kentucky IT curriculum;
  • to enhance the expertise of high school, community college, and technical college IT faculty;
  • to support and enhance IT initiatives across the Commonwealth; and
  • to increase the support and participation of business, government, and industry.
